Statement about Misrepresentation of the ICTI CARE Process

On 6th July 2012, reported by a factory, the TSV Consulting Company in Shenzhen (深圳玖玖泰丰企业管理顾问有限公司) published a marketing message via email to many factories which might be engaging in the ICTI CARE Process or other social compliance programs. TSV claimed to be able to provide a service that would reconcile ICTI CARE Process audit results or seal termination and forewarn unannounced-audit dates and auditor assignments and provided a clear price list for doing so.
The promotional material is misleading and fraudulent. The ICTI CARE Process has never authorized any consulting operation to perform these services. In fact provision of these services would undermine the effectiveness of the ICTI CARE Process and use of them would be considered a violation of the ICTI CARE Process Integrity Declaration and may result in disqualification or termination of factories, auditors and auditing firms from the ICP. Factories are encouraged to notify the ICTI CARE Foundation Asia Ltd. about any similar messages they may receive in the future.
ICTI CARE Foundation Asia Ltd. expresses its absolute disapproval of such a misleading promotion. We further emphasize that there is not and never has been any business and/or financial relationship between the ICP and TSV Consulting. To be effective, all types of ICTI CARE audits must take place on a completely unannounced basis with no pre-knowledge of their timing or of the auditors involved. Disposition of any factory status must be reviewed and approved by ICTI CARE management, not by consultants.
Serious actions against factories, auditors, auditing firms and/or consulting firms will be taken if any attempts at misrepresentation are discovered. ICTI CARE Foundation Asia Ltd. reiterates its rigid opposition to any forms of unethical behavior. We reserve the legal right to sue and to claim compensation for any forms of misrepresentation about our organization or its programs.
